Matthew McConaughey Timeline

Matthew McConaughey Timeline

Beloved actor Matthew McConaughey celebrates his 49th birthday this Sunday. Having played in a variety of movies, ranging from romantic comedies and dramas to horror, crime and science fiction productions, Mr. McConaughey has garnered a panoply of awards and nominations, including an Oscar, Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor.

To wish a happy birthday to the one whose early performances inspired critics to call him the new Paul Newman, we have created the Matthew McConaughey Timeline, which summarizes his life and acting career, including some of his best known films.

After his breakthrough role in Dazed and Confused in 1993, the debutant McConaughey was then cast in two 1996 high-profile films (Lone Star and A Time to Kill), becoming a sensation and gaining the attention of numerous other directors. Throughout the early 2000s though, he had a series of appearances in romantic comedies that caused him to be typecast, for which reason he took a two-year hiatus to seek new opportunities and to move away from the genre.

He returned to the big screen in 2011 to portray a criminal defense attorney in the thriller The Lincoln Lawyer, giving what was considered one of his best performances until then. Two years later, losing 47lbs for his role as an AIDS patient in the biographical drama Dallas Buyers Club, he reached the prime of his career, winning 4 awards and multiple nominations for Best Actor.

The Matthew McConaughey chronology was designed with Office Timeline, a PowerPoint extension that enables you to easily create stylish timelines and other similar visuals. This Sunday, American investor, philanthropist and Microsoft’s principal founder Bill Gates turns 63. Included in Forbes’ list of the world’s richest persons since 1987, he was also named one of the 100 most influential figures of the 20th century by Time magazine. Apart from launching a business that would become the largest PC software company worldwide, Mr. Gates’ merits also include a strong involvement in a variety of humanitarian causes that earned him awards and international recognition.

To wish a happy birthday to the one ranked as the fourth most powerful person in the world by Forbes in 2012, we have created the Bill Gates Timeline, which highlights some of the most significant moments in his life and career.

Taking a keen interest in programming since his teen years, Gates wrote his very first computer program when he was just 14 and studying at Lakeside School. It was during his enrollment at this private preparatory school that he met Paul Allen, together with whom he would found Microsoft in 1975. Graduating with one of the highest SAT scores ever recorded, young Gates continued to display a remarkable level of intelligence devising innovative algorithms during his 2 years at Harvard. He nevertheless decided to drop out of college to fully dedicate himself to launching his own company – Microsoft.

After Microsoft went public in 1987, he became the youngest billionaire ever at 31 and held primary responsibility for the company’s product strategy until 2006. After that point, he gradually diminished his presence and active involvement and channeled his attention towards a series of important charity and humanitarian endeavors. As a result, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016, France’s highest national award (Legion of Honor) in 2017, and India’s third-highest civilian award for his social and philanthropic efforts.

Paul Allen, American businessman, philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder, died yesterday from complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 65. Apart from the world’s biggest software-making company by revenue, he also founded Vulcan Inc., which oversaw his business and philanthropic efforts that ranged from scientific research and private spaceflight ventures to arts, healthcare and environmental conservation.

To pay tribute to the one whom Time magazine listed among the 100 most influential people in the world for two years consecutively, we have created the Paul Allen Timeline, which overviews some of his most notable life events and achievements.

Once the venture went public, the two became billionaires, but unfortunately Allen effectively left the company in 1982 after he received a Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis.

Despite giving up his active role within Microsoft and remaining only as a shareholder, Mr. Allen undertook a long list of investments in diverse areas such as aerospace, sports, filmmaking, science and research, and real estate. Friedrich Nietzsche Timeline

Friedrich Nietzsche Timeline

The 15th of October marks 174 years since the birth of the German philosopher, philologist and cultural critic Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche. Interested in the enhancement of the individual and cultural condition, he analyzed down-to-earth realities rather than aspects from a world beyond, which led to him being referred to as one of the first existentialist philosophers along with Søren Kierkegaard. Based on the idea of ”life-affirmation”, his body of work prompts one to honestly question all doctrines that dim down life’s expansive energies regardless of how socially popular those views might be.

To honor the legacy of the mind whose revitalizing philosophy has inspired numerous figures in all walks of cultural life, we have created the Friedrich Nietzsche Timeline, which summarizes his life and work.

Before turning to philosophy, Mr. Nietzsche began his academic career as a classical philologist at the age of 24, becoming the youngest ever to hold that professorship at the University of Basel. Initially influenced by authors such as Arthur Schopenhauer and Johan Wolfgang von Goethe, his early writings revolved around the pessimistic philosophy. However, after enlarging his circle of interest and acquaintances, he became exposed to a variety of different concepts, which made him increasingly preoccupied with an individual’s creative powers to overcome cultural, moral and traditionalist contexts in pursuit of new, better values.

Although the popular understanding labels Friedrich Nietzsche as a nihilist (an advocate of the idea that life lacks meaning and value), he in fact wrote about the dangers posed by nihilism and strove to offer solutions to them. His work takes a look at the difficulties of being an individual in a world where apparently nothing has value, but proposes ways in which we can face the inevitable demise of our being.

The Friedrich Nietzsche chronology was created with Office Timeline, a user-friendly PowerPoint plugin that enables you to easily build professional-looking timelines, Gantt charts and other similar visuals. You can copy and share the image for free, and restyle it using the Plus version of the tool.
